Imagine getting fired from your very first job after no pay for months. This happened to me when I had just started my career after completing my B.Tech. Like every hard-working student I had big career dreams to fulfil. But this was back in the days when IT industry in India was not as it’s booming now. It took me 3 months and after a lot of struggles I managed to get a job in a BPO in Noida. I used to stay in a single room apartment with 4 other people. Being an engineer working in a BPO was not an ideal scenario, but I had to start somewhere. I gave my best to the job but in just few months they laid off employees and I was one of them. The job hunt began again and this time I got a job in a gaming company in Mumbai as a tester. Since I always had a knack for gaming, I believed this would be the place where I can learn, earn and enjoy too. With excitement I joined the company with hopes of shaping my career in new direction through learning latest technologies. But after 8 months the company had to shut down as the management failed to raise enough money. I didn’t even get salary for 4 months I worked there. It was like bad luck following me, but I chose to not give up. In few following months I improved my skills subsequently applying for jobs. I finally got an interview call from TCS and got selected. I joined their Mumbai branch. I worked diligently there and within few years I got promoted to team lead. Since I wanted to explore more, I started preparing to switch the company for better opportunities. I got what I was looking for and joined as a manager in Capgemini. Things were looking good both in my professional and personal life. But I still wanted to experiment with new challenges. So, one day my wife suggested me to start my own content creation channel. She is a digital marketing expert and has a knack of video editing, hence with her help I launched my platform. My purpose was to help people gain technical skills, switch jobs, and grow in their career. What started as a hobby very soon grew into a huge platform of over 100K followers on Instagram. Juggling my full-time job with my personal technical platform can be tough sometimes but I get motivation when I see success of my students through this.
