I met Bibhu on Facebook. He had reached out to me through messenger. I had never thought one day we would be marrying each other. Before we got married, we were in different cities. He was working in Bangalore and I had got posted to Chennai. Though we were not that far from each other, it was difficult to maintain a ‘long distance’ relationship. I was working in the business process outsourcing department. Though it was my first job, I wasn’t happy with the nature of my work. On top of that, I longed to move to Bangalore for obvious reasons. Finally, luck smiled upon me in the year 2017 and I moved to Bangalore while switching to a new company. Fate favored us more when we both joined the same company in the year 2018. We joined the company within an interval of one month. The funny thing was, we had kept our relationship a secret before our colleagues. Not a single soul knew about us even when we were sitting on the same floor and our cubicles were close.I clearly remember the time when our marriage got fixed. When our engagement was on the cards, one of my colleagues got to know about me. “What the hell! How had you not told that your to-be husband is in our office?!” – this was her reaction. As the curiosity grew, the need to find my fiancée had turned into a treasure hunt. I had dropped a hint – the guy wearing the same kind of ring as me was my fiancée. In this way, all of our colleagues got to know about us.Next was our manager’s turn. When my manager got to know about my engagement, he had come to me asking if I would have any issue in working after marriage. “I don’t think so. Why don’t you ask him?” – I had answered him, pointing my finger towards Bibhu. His shock had known no bounds. He asked others if they were aware about this. Almost everyone was smiling and Bibhu was blushing from his cubicle. Today, when I think about this incident, I can’t stop laughing.It has been 3 years and 5 months, since the time we have got married. I hope – 𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘪 𝘬𝘪 𝘯𝘢𝘻𝘢𝘳 𝘯𝘢 𝘭𝘢𝘢𝘨𝘦.
